All my current works-in-progress are listed here, for your viewing pleasure. In case you’re curious.

Since I suck at titles, I usually list everything by their work in progress title, which, if it’s a novel, is the main character’s first name. I know, original isn’t it?

Tayce Book 1 (The Blood Queen)

Summary: In the 1980s, a witch doctor tried to raise a zombie and found out, the hard way, that he couldn’t control them. As a result, the zombies destroyed a small town in Colorado, USA before being wiped out by the army (they used a lot of flamethrowers). Suddenly, humanity couldn’t ignore the fact that supernatural beings and magic were true. Flash forward to present day: Tayce is the world’s most advanced golem. She looks, acts, and thinks like an average, human woman except for one fact: she’s immortal. Faced with eternity, Tayce wants nothing more than to stay out of trouble, but when Dorian, the hot heir to the vampire family, knocks on her door asking for a favor can she say no? And just what is she getting herself into?

Author Comments: This story was conceived a dark, stormy night (OK, I’m exaggerating) after reading perhaps the 100th urban fantasy story that involved pussified vampires, werewolves, etc. Where were the monsters that actually caused mayhem? Who were like double-edged swords of seduction and danger? When had the mythological world become so…safe? After bitching to the S.O. about it, he said, “Well, if you think you can do so much better, then why don’t you?” After thinking about it, I decided, Yeah! Why don’t I? Somewhere around that time, a story idea popped into my head: a golem who looked human, but much like a weird Pinocchio tale, she didn’t feel human. From this thought, Tayce was born. :)
